22 Feb Celebrate God’s Beautiful creation
A woman is a beautiful and precious creation of God. as God beautifully and skillfully carved out woman from man. Fruitfulness and multiplication became possible only after the creation of the woman.
But, God’s enemy, the Liar, deceived Eve. Sin entered and twisted meaning of almost everything.
All around us we see the beautiful creation of God in the ugly condition – beaten, betrayed, cursed, hated, abused, accused, and even killed. Whether it be an unborn female fetus or a grey-haired woman, she has to struggle for her existence. Is there any hope? Yes! there is hope in Christ. God’s love and power are at work when we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour.
God sent the angel Gabriel with a plan of salvation to virgin Mary. One of the nuances of her name is, ‘Sorrow”. Gabriel came in to her and said, “Rejoice, highly favoured one. The LORD is with you. Blessed are you among women.” Mary was troubled. The angel said, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favour with God. And behold, you will conceive and bring forth a Son, and shall call His Name, JESUS. . . For He will save His people from their sins.” God the Son, took upon Himself, flesh and blood. This became possible when Mary, willingly surrendered to the God’s will, to be part of God’s perfect and eternal plan of salvation.
Freedom of choice is a gift of God to mankind. While Eve chose to disobey God, Mary chose to submit to Him. Thus Mary became God’s instrument in saving mankind from the clutches of the enemy and bringing them back to His original plan!
When Jesus was on this earth, He saved and rescued every woman who came to Him, or was brought to Him. The adulterous woman, caught in the very act, was brought to be stoned. But Jesus saved her from death and condemnation. The widow of Nain received her dead son back to life. The lady suffering from chronic bleeding for 12 years was healed instantly. He travelled in the road not travelled to save the Samaritan woman from her terrible life! She who came to draw water out of the well at noon, became a fountain of living waters herself. Because each one had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, the sorrow and shame in all these women’s lives was turned into joy, and their troubles into triumphs. Celebration comes when we have a personal encounter with the LORD.
Sarah was barren; Tamar was a childless widow; Ruth was ruined; Bathsheba was shattered; Hadassah (Esther) was an orphan in a distant land; so was the maidservant of Naman’s wife. But God turned their situations around, in such a way that they could celebrate and become a reason of celebration for many. He is our loving and living Creator, Sustainer and Master, who has paid such a high price for us to rescue us from the clutches of the enemy. The government may create helplines, but our help comes from the LORD God Almighty, who created us.
We can be blessed if we wisely choose to surrender completely to the Lord’s plan for our lives. Satan only wants to torment and destroy woman. But if she comes to the Lord, she can become a reason for even the angels in heaven to rejoice and celebrate. Because God is with us through Jesus our Emmanuel, we can celebrate, and become His instruments in fulfilling His plan to rescue, redeem and restore all mankind. May God give us the wisdom to choose to obey Him. God has a plan for every one of us; it is in our hands to surrender into His hands, and be able to make heaven rejoice and celebrate! Mary could. We can. Amen.
